Our story
It all began in 1994 when Liz & Jim Mullen opened the doors to Cariboo Brew Masters in Prince George. Pioneers in the craft beer industry, they launched into something that Prince George had yet to discover. Fast forward 29 years, Liz & Jim have happily retired and graciously handed off the reigns to the next generation of craft wine enthusiasts. Our wines have graced the tables of many weddings, family gatherings, intimate date nights, corporate gatherings, gift baskets and surely many more special life events. We at North Vines are proud to offer our wine products to our community, and thoroughly enjoy what we do.
One of our favourite things to do is experiment with flavour notes in the wines. By adding herbs and botanical like elder flower, or hibiscus with citrus will brighten up your wine. Want to add richness and depth? We can add notes of cacao, clove, or anise. We have some tried and true recipes that are absolute crowd favourites, but we love to get creative and experiment a bit too!

To me, wine is something special. Sometimes the wine is the focal point, something extraordinary that you want to talk about and can’t wait to share. More often though, it’s the things that happen around the wine that are extraordinary. Sitting down to family dinner and hearing the stories from the day. A wedding day toast, where we hear where the love story all started, and we laugh and cry. Cozied up around fire on a warm summer night with friends. Celebrating an anniversary, birthday, or just a Wednesday, it’s the events that take place around wine that make it special.

How It’s Made
Our wine kits come from RJS Craft Winemaking, a division of Arterra Wines Canada. Canada’s leading producer and marketer of award-winning Canadian and imported wines, including Jackson-Triggs, Inniskillin, Sawmill Creek, Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi, Ruffino and Kim Crawford.
At our Nicholson St location we have over 5000 square feet of space, including 3 temperature controlled rooms for optimum and consistent production, and a semi-automated bottling and corking station for a fun and easy bottling experience. Come in for a visit, and a tour of our facility, it’s sure to impress.
